Marine Heritage Park is located at the end of the neighborhood with a walking path, playground, pavilions, restrooms and a lake. You can also access the Madison County Transit Bike Trail in the park. There are plenty of festivals and picnics in Marine throughout the year including Balloons Over Marine, which is an annual hot air balloon festival.

What Do You Know About Marine?
The Village of Marine, IL, was incorporated in 1888. It was named Marine because it was founded by sea captains and their crews. The beautiful sea of prairie grasses reminded them of the ocean waters. As of 2020, Marine was home to 994 residents. It is a vibrant community that keeps its residents involved in seasonal activities and celebrations. The village hosts a Marine Lion’s Club parade that is attended by many residents of neighboring communities. During Christmas, the town square is brightly decorated and features a bonfire celebration with treats and a visit from Santa Claus.
